Morality was a big theme in this book The main characters and their peers have to ask if Maegan and Rob deserve to be punished for what they did, or what their family members did Maegan cheated on her test, but it affected everyone else in the testing room whose papers had to be scrapped Rob s father stole money from many of his classmate s families, so they take it out on Rob by ignoring him They both end up suffering for these Another cracking story from Brigid Kemmerer I ve read a few of her books and each has been just as good as the rest but I think this may be one of my favourite high school books she s done.

Maegan is dealing with the aftermath of her cheating on a school test and issues at home.
The 2 are paired together for a school project and their issues bring them closer together but not without there share of problems.
This book was so heartfelt, dealing with alot of issues that happen at high school from bullying to rasicm It kept me gripped that I just didn t want to put it down.
Can t wait for the next book.
Brigid Kemmerer s books are always a must read for me I ve loved every single one, including Call It What You Want Brigid makes me care deeply about her characters, hoping so strongly for the best for them In Call It What You Want, Rob s father was caught embezzling funds and tried to kill himself now he s in a vegetative state, and Rob has to deal with everyone hating him Maegan was an overachiever until she cheated big time, and had to face the consequences Both are social pariahs at school When the two of them are paired together in math class, they slowly become friends, and then I grew to care about the characters so much, rooting for them, even the side characters, and I love that she included two queer characters I also love how Brigid wove in some social commentary and awareness into the story, including about one s moral compass being p I admit, I m becoming a little obsessed with Brigid Kemmerer and her super adorable protagonists I can never decide whether I like her heroes or heroines It s becoming a bit of a problem, because now I ve basically read all her contemporary YA books and I have to wait for her to write a new one Please, if you know of any similar writers that will keep me afloat till then, let me know So, this book, like her other books deal with lonely, tortured teenagers that have been dealt a bad set of cards Rob has fallen off the social ladder when his father was caught embezzling funds from half the town, screwing everyone over and making Rob and his mom social pariahs in their community Add to that, his dad s failed suicide attempt, which left Rob and his mom completely responsible for his care.
