[Anne Holm] ì I am David [dogs PDF] Ebook Epub Download ¼ Very nicely written, although I sometimes had to read a sentence twice to understand where the pauses were Is it because I m French speaking or because the author is Danish I don t know The boy s inside dialogues are insightful and can be meaningful in our own life I watched to movie after finishing the book, and it does not compare at all.
Good One of the most moving books I have ever read Despite being brought up in a prison concentration camp surrounded only by adults who were deceptive or broken down, save for a few genuine inmates who seemed to be hiding a secret from him, the boy, in the novel, takes a journey on a boat to Italy in order to get to Denmark Since Denmark is above Germany, he would have been prolonging his journey Also, Denmark was under Nazi occupation, so he would not have been safe there He would not have been able to make such a smooth journey, since almost all of Europe was occupied by Germany and under warfare.
he meets many obstacles that slow him down Also, on his way there, the miracles started to come his ways he does many things for his God.
Later on, he meets his mother.
I recommend this book to people who like adventures.
A wholesome and credible tale A must read for my grandchildren.
I find I am David very beautifully written So much imagery and emotion is conveyed in very few words Refreshing and brilliant because of its simplicity.
One is never quite certain how the journey will end It is about a boy who remembers for most of his years, the grey world of a concentration camp yet that was his reality These memories are revealed in a piece meal fashion throughout this book They provide a backdrop to his newer experiences of the outside world A world of colour, sunshine, freedom, frendship.
I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing with David a number of firsts Such as how good it f I remember reading this book in my childhood, and I have re read this as an adult, its a great story with powerful themes and metaphors that are as relevant today as they were when the book was originally published In some respects the story may seem unbelievable as David seems to cross frontiers with ease, that said a lot of children s books could be given the same label and I feel that this book has no real flaws It tells a riveting narrative that is packed with sadness, tenderness and innocence This book is well worthy five star rating.
