½ I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, 1941 (I Survived #4) Ï Download by Ø Lauren Tarshis My son LOVES these books They are perfect for older kids True stories of survival and overcoming the most incredible disasters in history These stories stick in his mind and encourage him This story is his favorite.
Great read thought provoking.
3 stars I felt that the whole part about Earl and his gang was not explained very well I was unsure what exactly he was and whether he was a criminal or not There was a mention of Danny s father leaving when Danny was born I read this story in French so I can not vouch for the language being accurate to the time period Note also that in French there is a swear word but I am unsure what the English version says Also, in French it kept switching between past tense and present tense, but I don t know if it does the same in English.
Fab book My grandson absolutely loves these books Upon completion of each book he seems to have a well informed grasp of the time period and is always excited to tell me and others all about what he has read I am slowly gifting him with the whole series As a grandmother, I think it is very important for our young children to understand the many hardships that made our forefathers they people that they are and the world what it is today.
My 7 and 9 year olds both love these books They are easy reads but still have enough content to keep their interest We love them because they are educational and through a child s prospective rather than just informational We especially love ones that they have actually lived through, we have lived through, or somewhere we have visited Provokes a conversation outside of the book I love these books Some are easier to read content wise than others I will admit My son loves them and got me to read them and I m glad This was so detailed packed I was floored My grandfather was in this one and I m thankful the reality of history is still burning bright.
This book series covers significant events in our history and is presented in a format that the reader craves for exactly what it is intended to do Whether it be Pearl Harbor or the Sinking of the Titanic or anything in between, this book series meets all established criteria for young readers leaving with a desire to learn and to move onto concise readings Highly recommended.
