External Battle Of The Rhodesian Bush War This is a very well written and detailed book that explains clearly how the fire force concept was put to effective use in attacking large terrorist camps in Mocambique As a member of the Rhodesian forces at the time who was not involved in such operations, this filled in many gaps in my knowledge of the situation The details on the composition and application of the airborne weaponry was also much appreciated I must commend the author in being able to tell a detailed story in an easy to read way and would recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding why the Rhodesian Army was such an effective, professional and successful organisation.
A very good read, I couldn t put it down Excellent, accurate record of history by Dr JRT Wood this battle will continue to baffle pundits now and in the future I would like to have seen larger enlargements of the various maps especially those with text boxes so as to follow the flow of events as they unfolded.
Could not put it down gripped my imagination and finished reading it in two sittings An index would have been very useful.
Good for people who were there at the time, but not involved, to show what an incredible risk was taken for a successful outcome.
Book could be presented in a professional maner, rather like a scrap book.
Very good

Very well written full of action Fsntastically well written and informative.
Sets the scene for the operation so background knowledge of the conflict is not required prior to reading.
These africa war books are also very well illustrated with some artwork and photographs taken at the time.
I must stress to those interested that these are not anything like the osprey books and probably not suitable for modellers.
However like osprey books these are quite pricey for a very thin book But these are very much worth the price for the subject.
